Javier Quilez has authored more than 30 publications in leading scientific journals, among them Nature, Science and Nature Genetics. His career of over 15 years sits at the meeting point of healthcare data, bioinformatics, genomics and precision medicine. At M42, where he is Associate Director of Bioinformatics, he contributes to national genomics programmes, precision medicine initiatives and pathogen surveillance.
Much of his work is about building data platforms that scale and bringing multiomics data together with clinical records. The aim is a practical one: turning large-scale genomic and clinical datasets into insights that can strengthen public health, advance translational research and improve patient care. Javier also regularly represents M42 and the Emirati Genome Program at international scientific forums, where he shares what the organisation is learning from its work in genomics and healthcare data.
